Our servers do not all wipe on the same schedule. Here is exactly when each one wipes, how a map wipe differs from a force wipe, and what carries through, so nothing catches you off guard.

Which Server Are You Joining?
Same community, same rules, same ranks, but the wipe schedule depends on which server you play. Read this part carefully. Connection details are on the home page.
Zombie Land 1x Monthly
Also known as Legacy. The traditional Zombie Land experience.
Wipes once a month, on force wipe only. The map stays up the entire month.
- Wipes on force wipe. First Thursday of the month, along with the rest of Rust.
- Does not map wipe in between. The 9 to 12 day map wipes below do not apply to this server.
- Server browser tag: Monthly

Zombie Land 3x PvE
The Legacy formula at a faster pace, with 3x resources, scrap, and components.
Wipes on force wipe and every 9 to 12 days in between. Three wipes in a typical month.
- Wipes on force wipe. First Thursday of the month, along with the rest of Rust.
- Also map wipes every 9 to 12 days. A fresh custom map each time. Only your level, skills, Legendary Vault, and a few plugin preferences carry through these. See what survives.
- Server browser tag: Biweekly (closest fit, see below)
Pick this if you like a fresh map often and fast progression. Most players hit end game content within days here.
About the server browser tags. Facepunch only offers three wipe tags in the Rust server browser: Weekly, Biweekly, and Monthly. Our 3x server is tagged Biweekly because that is the closest match to a 9 to 12 day cycle, not because it wipes exactly every 14 days. The schedule on this page is the real one.

Two Kinds Of Wipe
Both put you on a fresh map. The difference is what you keep, and which server they happen on.
Force Wipe
Facepunch's monthly wipe on the first Thursday of the month. Everything on the server resets, including the things that normally survive a map wipe.
Map Wipe
A mid-cycle wipe between force wipes, on the 3x PvE server only. The map is replaced and your bases, loot, and blueprints are gone. Only your level, skills, Legendary Vault, and a few plugin preferences come with you. Nothing else does.
A Typical Month
The same force wipe month, side by side for each server. On most months the 3x server follows the same rhythm: force wipe on Thursday, a Saturday morning map wipe 9 days later, a Tuesday map wipe about a week and a half after that, then the next force wipe.
- Day 1, Thursday Force Wipe First Thursday, 2pm Eastern. Everything resets.
- Same map the whole month. No map wipes.
- Day 29, Thursday Force Wipe Next month's first Thursday. Everything resets.
- Day 1, Thursday Force Wipe First Thursday, 2pm Eastern. Everything resets.
- Day 10, Saturday Map Wipe The second Saturday, 9 days later, 10am Eastern. New map.
- Day 20, Tuesday Map Wipe The Tuesday about a week and a half later, 2pm Eastern. New map.
- Day 29, Thursday Force Wipe Next month's first Thursday, 9 days later. Everything resets.
A typical four week month. When two force wipes land five weeks apart, the map wipe dates shift. See the long months below.
The usual rhythm
Most months run exactly like the timeline above: force wipe on the first Thursday, a Saturday morning map wipe 9 days later, a Tuesday map wipe about a week and a half after that, and then the next force wipe. An ideal map wipe is around 10 to 11 days.
The long months
Four or five times a year the first Thursdays of two consecutive months land five weeks apart instead of four. Those months break the usual rhythm, and we decide case by case: either longer map wipes, which is where 12 days comes in, or shorter ones with an extra wipe squeezed in. That is why we quote 9 to 12 days and never promise an exact length.
Wipe times
All wipes are scheduled for 2pm Eastern, except Saturday morning wipes, which happen at 10am Eastern.
Saturday mornings
We make every effort to include at least one Saturday morning wipe per month, normally the second Saturday at 10am Eastern, so there is always a wipe you can be there for from the first minute.
Short wipes go last
When the calendar forces a short map wipe, we try to put it toward the end of the month, when players have already researched most blueprints and are higher level.
What Survives
The part everyone asks about. Here is exactly what carries through a wipe, and what does not.
Carries Through A Map Wipe
- Legendary Vault contents. Everything stored in your vault is waiting for you on the new map.
- Level, XP, and skills. Your progression picks up right where it left off.
- Some plugin preferences. For example, your saved skin sets.
Nothing else persists through a map wipe. Map wipes happen on the 3x PvE server only.
Reset On Force Wipe
- Everything. On a force wipe the whole server starts over, including the things that normally survive.
- Legendary Vault contents and level, XP, and skills.
- Plugin preferences, including saved skin sets.
- Playtime and playtime ranks. The hour count starts from zero and the ladder is climbed again.
Plan accordingly before force wipe hits. This applies to all servers.
Gold ranks are the exception. Gold ranks bought in the store last 30 days from purchase regardless of wipes, so a force wipe does not touch them.
The Last Day
Every wipe ends with a ritual our players plan around. Do not log off early.
PvP DayDay before wipe
The day before wipe, starting around 8pm, the server flips to full PvP. You can be raided, killed, and looted. Everything is possible for one glorious day.
