Raid Bases
NPC-defended bases to crack open, in PVE and PVP flavors. Difficulty and whether a raid is PVE or PVP are shown by icon and color on your in-game map (G). Entering a PVP raid triggers an on-screen warning, and the raid bubble around a PVP base is darker than a PVE one.
Hovering a map icon can show who has a PVE raid locked. For wipe timing and PVP day, see Wipe info and the in-game info panel. Ocean-based raids on boats are covered separately on the Raidable Boats page.
Raid Types On The Map
Colors and labels follow roughly this scheme (exact wording may vary slightly in-game):
- Easy - PVE. Can spawn naturally on the map.
- Medium - PVE. Can spawn naturally on the map.
- Hard - PVE. Can spawn naturally on the map.
- Expert - PVE. Can spawn naturally on the map.
- Nightmare - Does not spawn naturally; you buy a personal locked raid with /buyraid (see below).
- Oceanic - PVE. Spawns on the water surface (sea level) in the ocean, separate from the boat-based raids on the Raidable Boats page. Can spawn naturally on the map.
- Abandoned / Player - PVP. Pink map icon. Former player bases turned into raid content (see Player raid bases).
- Admin event - PVP. Very light blue / teal map icon. Special server-run raids.
PVE Locks And PVP
- Naturally spawning PVE raids lock to the first player to destroy part of the building or kill an NPC. While locked, hovering the map icon can show the raider's name. Anyone not on that team is ejected from the raid area.
- Bought PVE raids spawn already locked to the buyer and their team; nobody else can enter.
- PVP raids are free-for-all; normal PVP rules apply (see server rules and the in-game PVP tab in /info).
Completing An NPC Raid
Every raid tier completes the same way: destroy the Tool Cupboard, or loot all of the loot containers. What changes by tier is how much of the loot you personally need to have looted to actually qualify for rewards:
- Easy and Medium - no minimum, any participation counts.
- Hard and Oceanic - at least 50% of the base's loot value.
- Expert - at least 60%.
- Nightmare - at least 75%.
When a raid completes, a despawn timer starts (on the order of a few minutes). If your team keeps dealing damage to the raid building blocks, that timer resets so you can keep clearing without the base vanishing early.
Rewards for finishing an NPC raid are split among participants. You only get credit if you actively participate in the raid.
RP, Cooldowns, And /buyraid
Buying raids costs RP and puts you on a cooldown before you can start the same tier again:
| Tier | Cost | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|
| Easy | 250 RP | 10 min |
| Medium | 750 RP | 20 min |
| Hard | 1,500 RP | 45 min |
| Oceanic | 2,000 RP | 45 min |
| Expert | 5,000 RP | 2 hours |
| Nightmare | 15,000 RP | 4 hours |
The cooldown starts once you have been rewarded for the raid, not at purchase time. Use /buyraid to purchase a personal locked raid that only you and your team can run; no one else can enter until the raid is over.
Leaderboards And Chat Title
View raid leaderboards with /rb ladder (current wipe) or /rb lifetime. Each wipe, the top raider from the previous wipe can get a custom chat title such as [Top Raider].
Player Raid Bases
Player raid content appears in two main ways: abandoned bases (you stopped playing) or converting a base you still own.
Abandoned player base
- If you fail to log in for too long, your base can become a raid base and your character may be removed for server performance.
- Inactivity thresholds scale with your rank; higher ranks get a longer grace period before their base is flagged. You must be online more than about 5 minutes in a session for that login to count as activity.
- An active clan base is fine as long as at least one clan member has been online within the window.
- If your base goes abandoned, your empty boxes will generate raid base loot and your other items will remain for players to come raid and take.
- Abandoned raids are always PVP.
Converting your base
- You need a Runestone from the /s store; the Runestone itself costs RP to buy, but using it to convert your base is free.
- Use only one Tool Cupboard and no high external walls in the design you convert.
- No other TC or sleeping bag may be nearby in any direction of yours.
- Include multiple empty boxes so loot can spawn; more complex bases can roll more loot.
- Stand next to your TC, look at it, and run /ar raidme, then confirm through the warnings.
- A cooldown applies between conversions; there is a cap on how many player raid bases can exist at once, so put real effort into the build.
- Converted bases are always PVP and behave like other PVP raids. Neighboring bases outside the raid bubble are not converted.
- Anything deployed or built inside the bubble during the fight can be destroyed and will despawn when the raid ends.
- Backpacks drop if you take part in combat.
- After you leave the bubble, you can still be attacked for about 120 seconds.
- When every box has been opened or the TC is destroyed, the base despawns after about 5 minutes.
- A raid timer resets when a building piece is destroyed; the base will not vanish while it is actively being raided.
