Keep It Tasteful

Explicit Content

The rules for graphical content on signs, paintings, and avatars. A lot of us have kids, and kids do play here, but we also understand Rust is rated M (17+) for full nudity and violence. This policy is where we draw the line.

Signs, paintings, avatars Every image is logged Protects the servers too

Allowed

  • General nudity. This includes mild display of genitals, the way Rust characters appear in game with censoring disabled.
  • Mild touching or fondling. Suggestive is fine. Explicit is not.
  • Political and religious images inside or directly on your own base, as long as they are not graphic, violent, or hateful. If someone's sign bothers you, walk away. See the General Rules.

Not Allowed

  • Extreme close-ups of just genitals.
  • Explicit sex acts. Penetration, oral, "money shots", fluids, and the like.
  • Anything blatantly underage, whether real or fictitious art. By blatant we mean visuals that appear extremely underage, for example something that looks like an 8 year old.
  • Racist, homophobic, or hate visuals of any kind, on signs, pictures, fireworks, names, or anywhere else.

The golden rule

Be Tasteful, Not Creepy

We all love some n00ds. We all love a little dash of nekkid ladies or dudes.

Would you hang it in a shared living room?

Tasteful and suggestive passes. Cringe, creepy, and clinical does not. If you have to squint to tell which side of the line it is on, it is on the wrong side.

Could it put the servers at risk?

Sign images are hosted content. Really pushing the barriers with what you post does not just risk your account, it can risk the whole community.

Be tasteful with it and do not be cringe or creepy. And keep in mind you could put our servers at risk if you really push the barriers with the things you post on signs.

Nothing slips past

Everything Is Logged

Every sign drawing and every /sil use is logged directly to the admin team, even if you quickly change it to something else. We can scroll the entire log file with the full images visible alongside your name and SteamID.

We go through those logs almost daily. And some of y'all need Jesus.
