Loot Locking
Loot Locking gives loot ownership to the player or group that did enough damage to an event target - patrol helis, Bradley APCs, and similar world events. This discourages "kill-stealing" and rewards the players who actually fight for the content. This same mechanic is briefly described on the Customizations page.
How it works
When a world event target (heli, Bradley, etc.) dies, the system checks which player or group dealt a qualifying share of the total damage. That group wins the loot lock - their team's members can open the crates and loot the wreckage; everyone else is blocked until the lock clears. Lock and unlock events are announced in global chat so everyone knows what is happening.
Bradley loot locks clear automatically about 10 minutes after the kill. Helicopter loot locks currently do not expire on their own, so if you are locked out of a heli's loot, waiting it out is not a reliable fix - your best bet is calling in or finding a different heli.
