Zombie Land

The Drafting Table

Building Guidelines

How much ground a base may claim, and how it may claim it. Each entry is color coded on the enforcement scale and comes with photo evidence of what passes and what gets a knock on the door.

Foundation Carpeting

RulePVP Prep exception

Spreading out foundations across open ground is only permissible for laying out a future build design for PVP day. Claiming land with a carpet of foundations you never intend to build on is not.

Foundations spread across open ground with nothing built on them
Foundation carpet. Nothing is being built here.

China Walls

DesiredLifts at PVP Prep

China walls need to stay at a foundational level until PVP Prep Time. Lay the footprint now, raise the wall when the 48 hour window opens.

China wall kept at foundation height around a base
Foundation level only. Ready to raise at prep time.
China wall built up to full height during PVE
Raised to full height before PVP Prep Time.

Bridges and Sidewalks

Strict

Do not use foundations to create sidewalks, bridges, or walkways. If you need to cross water, there are boats, vehicles, and teleports for that.

External TCs

DesiredLoosens at PVP Prep

One ring of external TCs is acceptable if they are placed tightly up against your existing base building priv radius. If you are building a multi-TC build, that counts as your ring of TCs. Past that, no additional external TCs.

During PVP Prep Time you can add pill boxes or TC off critical build areas near you (high rocks and the like), as long as it is only a few extra TCs.

How to find the line. Hold a building planner in your hand and slowly walk away from your main base. The instant the "Building Priv" text disappears from the bottom right of your screen you may place an external TC. No further than that.

  1. Equip a building planner.
  2. Walk slowly away from your base.
  3. Watch the bottom right for "Building Priv".
  4. The moment it vanishes, that is your TC spot.
External TC placed tight against the main base building privilege radius
Placed right where building priv ends.

Community Villages and Towns

GeneralLifts at PVP Prep

No compounding off community type builds (cities, towns, villages, and similar) until PVP Prep Time. Shared builds are welcome. Wrapping them in a compound before prep is not.

High Walls

DesiredLoosens at PVP Prep

One ring of high walls is permitted, with as little empty space as possible inside that single ring. Hug the base, do not fence the field.

During PVP Prep Time you may place multiple rings of walls, but are asked to still keep them with as little empty space as possible. That is actually the smarter defensive tactic too.

A single ring of high walls placed tight against a base
One ring, tight to the walls.
Another example of a single tight ring of high walls
Minimal dead space inside the ring.

Deployable Spread

General

Deployables should be kept within a reasonable spread relative to your base. Do not scatter them far from your main structure. For item by item counts, see the Deployable Guidelines.

Deployables grouped close around the main base
Everything within a sensible radius of the base.

Base Pre-Approval

GeneralBig builds

For very large or unusual builds you may request pre-approval from staff. Submit a ticket in Discord with your plan. Approval is at admin discretion, and a foundational layout like the one below is the easiest way to show what you have in mind.

Shell Structures

DesiredLoosens at PVP Prep

Shell structures (empty or near-empty builds put up for PVP prep) should follow the same spirit as every other guideline on this page. During PVP Prep Time more flexibility applies.

Enforcement

Rule

Any building that is explicitly against the rules will be enforced. Compound stacking, excessive external TCs outside PVP prep, and the like. See the General Rules and the Guidelines overview for context on how judgement calls are made.

Nothing on this sheet carries that color. Pick another tier.

Color tiers are explained on the Guidelines page, along with PVP Prep Time and clan limits. Guidelines sit under Rule VI of the General Rules.
